Distance is a funny thing; a matter of concern for both body and mind. A hundred lightyears can span between you and another person, even though they may stand right beside you. Likewise, a person can stand right beside you, even though you're a hundred lightyears apart.
The one is called stranger, the other is called family, and family is what we are. Though sundered and scattered from our common land in time long passed, the bond of our shared history and home holds fast. Now our ancestor's children play among the stars they once gazed upon, carrying their legacy to new skies.
Aldalonde. Our city and home on the planet Verdant, sixth in the Augnais system. A city by only the smallest modern standard, Aldalonde was a place of natural beauty fused with technology. A place which made a point to welcome those without homes, those without a family, those running from a terrible past.
It was the Gallente-Caldari War that cast our ancestors from it, with fire and bombs from the sky. We do not know why war came to such a peaceful place, but came it did. Green turned to black, and city to rubble. Though many families escaped, the community of Aldalonde - welcoming and open for so long - was broken. The Sister's hospitality to the new refugees could not last forever, and eventually we were scattered to whatever planet or station our families could etch out a new life on. But through it all the Sundered of Aldalonde kept in touch, and passed the story of their lost homeland to their children. We reunited at times in great Gatherings, when resources allowed, and never let the memory of home die down.
So it came to be that through the years, when the grand and great-grandchildren of Aldalonde's founders had found or worked themselves into meagre fortunes, they rejoined to face the capsuleer life together, and forge a new Aldalonde set in the stars, in memory of the old one set in the trees.
In memory of Aldalonde, The Sundered Guard flies strong. Nature's Sword, the People's Shield, forever will live on.
